How my love for Belgrade led me to volunteer for the Centar za Kulturu Mira

Since arriving in Belgrade, I’ve fallen head over heels in love – it’s a place where history and
modernity coexist in unexpected harmony, where every street seems to tell a story, and where
creativity spills from galleries, music venues, and impromptu gatherings. There’s a raw, magnetic
charm to Belgrade that’s hard to describe but impossible to ignore.
What has moved me most, though, are the people. There’s a warmth, a humor, and a resilient spirit
in Serbians that I admire deeply. Conversations are genuine, gestures are generous, and the sense of
community is real. It’s not just a city I’m passing through—it’s a place I now feel a part of.
Volunteering with Centar za Kulturu Mira is my way of giving back to a place that has given me so
much. I believe in what the center stands for: bridging cultures, celebrating art, and creating spaces
where people can come together in peace and mutual understanding.
In a city as alive and ever-evolving as Belgrade, contributing to cultural dialogue and unity feels not
only meaningful but essential. I’m honored to be a small part of that work.
